A Quick Guide to Choosing an Asian Wedding Venue

Your wedding day should be the most exciting and special day of your life as your friends and family gathers to witness as you marry the person you love most in the world. This is why many couples put so much time and effort into planning their perfect wedding as they prepare for this special day.

There are some parts of the wedding planning that aren’t too important, as these will just be small details that you won’t remember within a few years. However, some parts are absolutely essential and can have a huge impact on the feel and look of your wedding. One of these factors is the wedding venue.

If you’re recently engaged, congratulations! This is a very exciting time, and we’re here to help you find that perfect venue. So where do you start, and what should you consider?

Consider Your Budget

The first thing you may want to consider is your budget as this will do a lot of the deciding for you. Whether you have a small or a large budget, you will be able to find a venue that you love. However, you may have to be a little more creative on a lower budget as it may not be cost-efficient for you to opt for an all-inclusive package.

Once you have set your budget, it can be helpful to decide how much of that budget you want to set aside for the different elements of your wedding. As a starting point, it is likely that the ceremony venue, reception venue and the food will take up roughly 40%-50% of your budget.

Think About Your Style

Your style and theme will also a big deciding factor when it comes to choosing a venue. Each venue will bring its own look and feel to your wedding but the way you decorate will have a huge influence as well.

We spoke to Sonas Couture, providers of fine Indian wedding attire, who said,

“In many Asian cultures, colour is an incredibly important element of a wedding. You can find fantastic colours in the dresses, flowers, venue dressing and even the food. When you are looking for a venue, you might want to take into consideration how you will fill the space with colour. If you’re not going to have the venue provide the decorations, make sure that you are clear on the rules for bringing in your own.”

Look at the Venue Size

One of the most important things to consider when you are thinking about which venue to choose is the size. It’s best to opt for something that you are going to fill up but have plenty of space for your guests. In some venues, you may find that if you fill them up to their maximum capacity, there is little space to move around. This is something that you will need to talk through with the wedding coordinator.

While there is a lot to think about when it comes to choosing your wedding venue, once you have found the perfect place, you can rest assured in the knowledge that your wedding will be spectacular.
